PRE/POST WAX CARE

How to prep for your first wax:

  1. Allow 3-4 weeks of hair growth from your last shave. This will ensure the hair is long enough and there will be minimal hair left behind.
  2. Exfoliate 1-2 days prior to your appointment in order to release any hair that may be stuck underneath any dead skin. Avoid using salt/sugar scrubs, or any high fragrance product.
  3. Always keep your skin and hair hydrated and moisturized to avoid breakage or tearing.
  4. Avoid showering too close to your appointment, since the water can soften the hair shaft and break while waxing.
  5. If you are on your period, make sure to wear a tampon. Liners, tampons and wipes are provided for your comfort.
  6. If you have a lower pain tolerance, you can take an ibuprofen 20-30 minutes before your appointment to help ease the pain.
  7. Come in your most comfortable clothes to avoid any unnecessary irritation. Avoid leggings, jeans, or rompers.
  8. Practice breathing in and out before your appointment. This will better prepare you and be calmer during your appointment. I will be implementing this technique so you are more comfortable and experience the least pain possible!
  9. I will have snacks and refreshments for you to recover your energy and stay hydrated. (:

Aftercare:

  1. Avoid beaches, pools, or lakes for 24-48 hours.
  2. Avoid hot showers, saunas, or any hot vapors for 24-48 hours.
  3. Do not exfoliate for 3 days after your waxing appointment. After that make sure to exfoliate 2-3 times a week using a dry brush, and PFB. You can also use scrubs that are made for the bikini area, and glycolic toner pads.
  4. Hydration is very important, don’t forget to drink your daily intake of fresh water.
  5. Your skin needs moisturizing everyday. Some things that you can use are avocado oil, grapeseed oil, almond oil and gel moisturizers.
  6. Working out is important, but sweating can cause ingrown hairs. Avoid sweaty activity for 24-48 hours after your wax. You can continue to workout regularly, but make sure you are washing off that sweat immediately so it doesn’t stick around too long in your pores.
  7. Sex is a type of physical activity and can cause irritation as well. Make sure you are practicing safe sex and avoiding it for at least 24 hours.
